Mako: My parents were murdered by a man who possess the same power as I do. I took on the responsibility of caring for my younger brother at age 8 and raised him with good morales. I'm a powerful bender, a fierce friend and my brother's primary caretaker as well as brotherly companion.
Fandom: We love you Mako!
Mako: There are two amazing girls in my life, and I've never had any experience with relationships because I've spent my entire childhood trying to aid myself and my brother in survival. I'm dating Asami, but the relationship began quite suddenly. I really care about Korra, I just haven't decided if it's more than a friendly way yet.
Fandom: Eh, this guy is douche. Playing with girls like that...no pity given whatsoever.
Mako: Korra's been abducted by the single most dangerous man in Republic City, and I'm furiously concerned! I'm going to do everything in my power to try to find her, because not only is she my friend, she's also the Avatar and essential to the world's balance.

Mako: I care about Asami, and I'm truly sorry for her getting mixed up in all of this. But I want her to know that she's still an amazing girl, and I know she's strong and she'll move past this. So I apologize sincerely to her and she acknowledges this. We have now broken up in a very subtle, but mature way. No hard feelings, just ending a relationship as friends.
Fandom: Woah woah woah he didn't break up with Asami there were no tears or yells or face slaps!
Mako: So here I go saving the world with Korra, helping her unlock air bending, overcoming the single most powerful bloodbender and doing everything I can to ensure her safety. I tell her I love her, despite how hard it is, because that's really how I feel about her. We've been through so much and she is still so amazing. Korra pushes me away, but I follow her regardless because I know she needs comforting, but she's just trying to be strong. I watch as she enters the Avatar State and becomes a fully realized Avatar. I'm so proud of her. We hug and twirl and she tells me she loves me, because she has all along, and we share a heartfelt kiss. All is well.
Fandom: DAT MAN DON'T DESERVE NO WOMAN HE NEEDS TO DIE ALONE!!! AND HE'S CHEATING ON ASAMI!!!!! What is nick doing?! Teaching kids that cheaters get the girl? Let me just diss Legend of Korra now because of how much this upsets me. Let me just go ahead and hate on the creators that spent years of their lives making this, cause Mako is such an a**hole and Korra needs to back off.
